Archive: Equal Land Rights for All 2016-2017
Similar to previous projects implemented under the umbrella term Equal Land Rights for All 2016 – this project was an educational project to empower the marginalized inhabitants in selected areas of the capital of Malawi, Lilongwe. The project aimed to empower and support the inhabitants in their struggle for equal land rights, mainly through advocacy activities.
Important to note, this project was a milestone for not only the collaboration between LUPPEN and MUD Africa – but also for MUD Africa as an organisation as this project was the first donor-funded project. It was mainly funded through the Swedish Civil Society Organization – Forum Syd.
Moreover, in this two-year project, LUPPEN focused on educating and empowering trainers of trainers (T.O.T) within four settlements located in Lilongwe, namely: Area 44; Kaliwiwala; Kamphinda, and Katantha.
All projects named Equal Land Rights for All aimed to strengthen vulnerable women in Malawi and their right to land. The projects included activities such as education covering the land registration process and women rights.
