MUD Africa have planned and funded several projects on the topic of land rights since the start in 2012. At the moment we have two ongoing partnerships with local community based organizations in Malawi, and with these organizations we empower and advocate for equal land rights and secure tenure for marginalized inhabitants in the peri-urban and rural areas of Lilongwe, Kasungu and Mchinji-district.
In the long run, equal land rights and secure tenure generate equal opportunities for women and men, combat poverty, increase the value of democracy and citizens’ ability to influence their own lives. For sustainable results, out projects are developed in close collaboration with the, for the project, involved inhabitants and participants.
Projects designed and developed together with, and from the perspective of local residents, have the best opportunity to achieve desired outcome.
MUD Africa develops and implements projects in Lilongwe together with Lilongwe Urban Poor People’s Network, and in Kasungu and Mchinji together with Millennium Information Resource Centre. All in the central region of Malawi. Read more about our projects and their aims below.
